The plan is for a team or teams to visit small
churches in the Upper Columbia Conference.
Teams will provide a variety of services to the
church based on church needs and teams
several abilities.
A team of at least two people or multiple teams
would arrive at a given church preferably on
Friday in time to settle in and then stay for
Sabbath services and where needed for other
team services the stay could extend up to
several days. During the stay the team(s) would
assist with Sabbath services. And as
prearranged for other projects or ministries the
team(s) could stay to assist for periods
extending from 2-10 days.
The projects or ministries could include -
work on physical plant such as-
painting
cleaning
general maintenance
community outreach through classes
such as -
cooking/nutrition
computer literacy
budget/finance counseling
and many more depending on
team skills
Where possible the church would need to
provide either RV parking or rooms in church
member homes for the team(s). Also, where
possible the church should assist teams with
meals. Not all teams will require meal
assistance but would need housing as
described above.
Community outreach, in addition to the classes
mentioned above could include teams helping
with evangelism or distribution of flyer's etc.
Small churches may want to consider a flier
that would describe the worship and
community services offered along with the
church address and directions to locate the
church. This flier could be distributed once
every few months to the local businesses
and/or the community at large.
